Pink Floyd are back!...and Bootleg Release News...
13 Jun 2005

Incredible news from the music world this weekend that PINK FLOYD will reunite for the Live8 show on July 2nd in Hyde Park. It's about time and the cause is certainly right. God I hope they perform some of the "Animals" material! Welcome to the Bootleg News for June 12th...

It just so happens that the latest bootleg news out of Japan features a new FLOYD title...Sirene will be releasing "Roar Ends", another version of the excellent audience tape from Olympic Stadium in Montreal on July 6th, 1977 - the notorious show that not only featured the now legendary "spitting" incident by Roger Waters but provided the impetus to write the storied theme to "The Wall"...this is a 3CD set limited to 200 copies...also from Sirene comes the 2CDR release, NATIONAL HEALTH "Dundee 1976"...a soundboard source recording from the University of Dundee, Scotland on February 22nd, 1976...from Trial, ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA "Living In Twilight" features their February 22nd, 1978 show at The Budokan in Tokyo on double-CDR...Wardour has a new QUEEN set on the way...it's called "Pop Spectacular", a 1CD plus bonus disc that features their Golders Green Hippodrome show, London on September 13th, 1973 in soundboard/broadcast quality taken directly from the BBC Transcription Discs...the supplementary material on the featured disc is from Liverpool on November 17th, 1973...the bonus disc is a very good audience recording from The Uptown Theater in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 7th, 1975 obtained via Bit Torrent on the net recently and appears to be the entire show.

Earlier in the week we relayed the info on the new PAUL McCARTNEY & WINGS title from MisterClaudel, "Wings Over St.Paul"...the date of this one is from June 6th, 1976 at the St. Paul Civic Center and is of course an audience source...I haven't nailed down what label is putting this out but there is a great looking/sounding KISS DVD out now called "Hotter Than Hell Tour" and appears to potentially be from the Bill Graham Archives as it is a Proshot/Soundboard production from The Winterland on January 31st, 1975 and should be very cool...Dog N'Cat Records announced their next ROLLING STONES release as "Nasty Habits In Glasgow" and is being touted as an upgrade to other releases of this May 10th, 1976 performance (such as Exiles' "Shake It Up, Play It Rough")...in other things STONES, coming soon from Exile is the 2CD set "Fire and Blimstone", and it should be a fresh take of the Mannheim audience source from September 3rd, 1973 when the band was hitting on cylanders...The Ladybird Label has extended its' catalog to include a new STONES DVD called "Philadelphia", which brings silver disc version of the Pro-shot source from Vets Stadium during the opening stretch of "The Steel Wheels Tour", this one recorded on August 31st, 1989...other new titles issued recently from Ladybird include a MILES DAVIS DVD, "La Villette 1991", also a Pro-shot/Soundboard release from Paris on July 10, 1991...and the label continues their stellar series of PRINCE DVD's with 5 new titles:..."Arsenio Hall Shows '91-'93" that includes bonus footage from Minneapolis on 7/19/91 and the MTV Music Awards '91, "Beautiful Experience Film" is a rare Prince-made film produced at Paisley Park Studios with assorted videos and live performances from 2/13/94, "Nulle Part Ailleurs" features 2 Pro-shot films from Paris Canal & Studios on 11/17/99 and Madrid 11/22/99, "Parade Live" is a complete Revolution show from The Parade Tour, professionally filmed in Detroit on June 7, 1986 with some bonus footage of PRINCE with SHEILA E on 3/8/86, "Royal Vision Volume 2: the Promotional Videos 1984-1990" is just that, a Video Compilation of 24 Promo films.

In some DVD-R release news...Checker Entertainment has just released that JONI MITCHELL "BBC In Concert" video which captures her October 9th, 1970 performance on BBC-TV, classic stuff...on the Cat's Meow Label, there's MOBY GRAPE "Grooving with Moby Grape", a collection of rare clips like their Mike Douglas Show appearance in the late 60's and much more. Then there's FAITH NO MORE "Germany" which is another Pro shot/Soundboard quality vid of their Bizarre Festival set from Cologne, Germany in 1997...the Bully Label has THE RAMONES "Coney Island High", a Pro-shot effort of the band live at Coney Island High on February 27th, 1996, plus bonus footage from Italian Television in 1992... and finally, we had posted information about new BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & THE E STREET BAND titles from Doberman this week as well..."Runaway American Dreams" compiles recordings from the 3 shows at The Bottom Line in New York City on Augst 14th, 16th and 17th, 1975 and is actually a silver disc release from Doberman...their other title is a BRUCE solo acoustic show from a recent Devils & Dust Tour show on May 24th at The Point in Dublin, called "Getting To The Point"...I should also mention that The Godfather Records/Pablo label has released the SPRINGSTEEN title "Lost Radio Show" from The Main Point 1975.

That's all I know for now! Anything else the team and I learn along the way this week will be posted on the News Ticker so reference that periodically for the quick bites...and join me here next Sunday for more on Recorded Highlights & Action Replays. Have a great week.
