The latest Bootleg Release Roundup...
15 Aug 2005

It appears everyone has scattered to fit in their holiday or vacation time here the last couple of weeks. There is release info that has trickled in for this version of the news this week at HotWacks On-line.

Screamer is a great little label and they have a handful of titles to be streeting shortlyTHE KINKS "Sleepwalking In Boston" 2CD captures their show at the Boston Music Hall on February 5th, 1977this looks to be a complete show and captures the band at the beginning of their 2nd life or commercially successful period that served them well over the next 6 years or soalso included in the latest batch from Screamer are 2 different ERIC CLAPTON releases"With A Southand Smile" 2CD features EC live at Providence, Rhode Island Civic Center circa 1974and "Garden Shed" is recorded at the Boston Garden on September 30th, 1974 and is also spread over 2CD'slastly, there is a new EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER title, "Toccata" 2CD, that is also sourced from a live show at the Providence Civic Center, this time on July 29th, 1974. If you see a theme here it's that Screamer has jumped on the Joe Maloney Archives bandwagon and is presenting these new tapes in "respectable" commercial bootleg form. They do a nice job and we hope they continue down the path they are currently navigating.

In other Label newsWatchTower is readying their new NEIL YOUNG & CRAZY HORSE title, "GPK", recorded live at the Kyudenkinen in Taiikukan,Fukuoka, Japan on March 8th, 1976...Brand new from Trial is ROBIN TROWER "The Eagle Has Landed", a single CDR live at Sun Plaza Hall in Tokyo on January 24th, 1977...Sirene has another Deluxe PINK FLOYD package on the way...it's called "Fatal Attraction", a 3CDR + 1DVD-R set that will be limited to 80 copies worldwide in the Deluxe Format...the audio discs will feature the DAVID GILMOUR-led FLOYD live at Yoyogi Olympic Pool, Tokyo on March 4th, 1988, the DVD-R will feature about 32 minutes of what appears to be audience sourced footage from the March 6th performance at the same venue. Wardour has pressed a new U2 silver disc set called "War Tour" that captures the bands' early London performance at the Hammersmith Palais on March 29th, 1983...and finally, in Japanese Bootleg DVD news there is the new CARPENTERS "Live In Australia 1972"...a concert recorded for broadcast on Australian Television in May of 1972...the canned production runs about 50 minutes and features a handful of well-known CARPENTERS hits along with some pretty sappy instrumental segments as the duo always performed with an orchestra of some configuration - and those were the times.

Random release News...You will recall that Tambourine Man released the BOB DYLAN 2DVD set "Don't Look Back: The Outtakes"...well, 4Reels has re-released this on a single DVD9 under the same title...in other things DYLAN, the Red Devil Label has just put out a series called "Zimmy's Live Companion" in Volumes 1, 2 and 3 on CD and feature every song performed on the 1975 Rolling Thunder Tour that weren't included on the official live set...here's one we haven't mentioned previously, Exile has just released THE ROLLING STONES "New York Palladium" which features the very marginal but exciting New York Palladium show from June 19, 1978...Kingsnake have issued a couple of DVD's, this time it's THE WHO "Live Featuring The Rock Opera Tommy" - a 1989 pro-shot performance featuring a slew of guests like PHIL COLLINS, BILLY IDOL, PATTI LABELLE, & STEVE WINWOOD...and then there is VAN MORRISON "In Ireland" which compiles 1979 footage from Belfast and Ireland, German Musikladen 1975 and more...from assorted other labels we have come across...JIMI HENDRIX "Foxey Festivals" DVD from Crime Crow that combines 2 pro-shot vids from Atlanta Pop Festival and MontereyPop...Ganja has issued MARK KNOPFLER "Rarities Collection" CD, which includes performances with pals ERIC CLAPTON, PAUL McCARTNEY, STING and more...finally, be on the lookout for boots from the ROLLING STONES Club/Theater Gig in Toronto last week at the Phoenix Theater!...the boys sound like they are serious to rock and we can't wait for that recording to hit the street!...and now the onset of the tour too!
