An incredible collection to highlight and all the bootleg news too!... | |
Hey, welcome to a mid-week edition of Recorded Highlights and Action Replays here at HotWacks On-line. The fact that you are here is reason enough to alert you to an extraordinary music collection of memorabilia and recordings featured on the web. If you haven't already heard or been there, you will not want to delay visiting Wolfgangsvault.com. The wealthy owner of the Bill Graham collection, Bill Sagan, has organized this amazing motherlode of some of the most important documents in music history. If the prices on the posters, handbills and original photography numb your brain, a 15-minute sampling of Vault Radio will completely melt it. We're talking soundboard audio from all major Bay Area (Oakland, San Francisco even Berkeley and L.A. Forum, even Toronto) performances and shows promoted by the late Bill Graham! We're talking Jefferson Airplane before they were...The Grateful Dead in the embryonic days...Led Zeppelin's first shows at both Fillmore West (opening for Country and The Fish) and Winterland (opening for Iron Butterfly). Then there is the potential of seeing some video excerpts down the road! Incredible doesn't even begin to describe what is featured. Go here and learn all about it and listen for yourself: Alright!...Fans of Hollow Horn's 2005 BOB DYLAN Reference Master Collection will be thrilled to learn that the label has just as much ambition for 2006! Over the next 10 months, we will see Hollow Horn's new Performing Artist collection be introduced and released on a volume-by-volume basis...there will be 7 double-CD sets in all and Volume 1 is called "Ten Million In A Week" and will concentrate on the extremely early Zimmy-period of 1958-May 1961 while Volume 2, "Like Marlon Brando" will pick up the trail from September 1961-1962...this series promises some upgraded source tapes, logical sequencing and the usual superb fold out packaging, and there will be, as in the previous Reference Recording series, be a booklet issued with one of the later volumes that will offer full track and source details and extensive sleeve notes. Most of this material has been available on previous releases but all are long out of print and the promise of upgrades, PLUS the precedent their Reference Master series set - these should be just as collectible and worth seeking out. And one last comment on THE ROLLING STONES Super Bowl appearance...I lied, CHUCK LEAVELL did perform with the band so they had some reassuring accompaniment anyway! I think we'll leave that Super Bowl thread up as people seem to feel compelled to comment, and that's great! Thanks for stopping in to HotWacks On-line for all the news and we'll rendezvous here again next week! Keep an eye on the Ticker. Svengi
