...mid-to-late September we should finally see the release of AEROSMITH "1979 plus Houston 1977" from 4Reel...this one features their July 21st, 1979 headlining appearance at The Monsters Of Rock Festival at Oakland Stadium with both the July 25th & July 26th proshot videos from The Summit in Houston also added on the disc.  An interesting project and a Limited Edition coming from 4Reel is THE BEATLES "Making of Sgt. Pepper's" DVD with bonus Audio segments with accompanying slides that feature the mono version of Sgt. Pepper's, a stereo version taken from Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs' issue and a DTS version...they didn't come right out and say that it was DVD-Audio but it sure sounds like that's the approach taken with the bonus features of the production.  Then later in the Fall/Early Winter 2006 we should expect another collaborative effort between 4Reel and Top Of The Line with THE ROLLING STONES "L.A. 1975" DVD, featuring a clean version of the July 11th, 1975 proshot video that hopefully has a stereo soundtrack that is upgraded from what is available currently - nobody can seem to get this particular film released appropriately.  Maybe this time around?  One can hope.  It's looking like October-ish or early November for KISS "Landover, Maryland 1979" DVD which I am being told is absolutely "mint" clean and will feature tons of news and promotional footage to supplement the cause!...then as we creep towards the holidays and into 2007, the line-up is looking to present another stab at THE ROLLING STONES "Marquee Club w/Outtakes & CS Blues" DVD, SLY AND THE FAMILY STONE "Broadcast Masters" DVD and a THE BEACH BOYS 1971 project.  We'll keep you posted on any release changes but that's a fine line-up to get things calibrated nicely for the 4th Quarter.

Bootleg updates out of Japan over the weekend...coming off the death of PINK FLOYD founding member, SYD BARRETT, there are two new and interesting boots that have been issued...the first is a 6CD set of rarities from Flux And Reflux Farm called "Beyond Rhyme Nor Reason", a compilation of all soundboard source rarities...from Adventure Disc comes the SYD BARRET w/PINK FLOYD DVD, "Vegetable Man Where Are You?", a 92 minute proshot video anthology, with a bonus DVD-R of the BBC Ominbus TV Documentary...Reel Masters will issue LED ZEPPELIN "In The Field" 2CD, featuring an incomplete alternate audience source tape of their second of the 2 Knebworth Festival performances on August 11, 1979, this source making it's debut on commercial bootleg CD apparently and is said to be excellent...from Wardour, COVERDALE PAGE "Over Now" 2CD, a superb audience tape from Aichi, Japan on December 22nd, 1993...and JEFF BECK "Out Of Darkness" 2CD, a nice recording from The Budokan on September 2nd, 1978...a Power Gate silver disc title announced this week is OZZY OSBOURNE "The Crazy Gang" single CD, live at Auditorium Theater in Rochester, New York on April 28, 1981 and boasting excellent sounding audio!..another Euro "Import" will be OZZY OSBOURNE "Blizzard Of Ozz Working Tracks" 1CD, a very limited edition title that features the line-up of OZZY, RANDY RHOADS, LEE KERSLAKE (former URIAH HEEP Drummer), DON AIREY on Keyboards and Bob Daisley on Bass as they lay down the working tracks to the project that would re-launch Ozzy's  career and secure Randy Rhoads as a guitar god...

...on the Recordable Media side...Power Gate will also issue:  YNGWIE MALMSTEEN "Magnum Power" 2CDR, a September 8, 1995 soundboard recorded at Shimin Bunka Hall, Kagoshima, Japan...JUDAS PRIEST "Robbed And Rammed", 2CDR,  a June 22nd, 1988 excellent audience tape from the City Hall in Sheffield, England...ALICE COOPER "Run Through The Brutal Planet" 2CDR + Bonus DVD-R, recorded and filmed at Web Theater in Phoenix on May 17, 2000...Trial will release:  MICK TAYLOR 2CDR set, "Jack Legg's 2000", a stereo soundboard from Nashville on September 16th, 2000..BAD COMPANY "The Preacher" 2CDR, that features a very nice audience tape from The Budokan on March 3rd, 1975, plus a San Francisco 1974 tape that hasn't been circulated before...ELTON JOHN "Step Into Osaka" 2CDR documents a February 3rd, 1974 Osaka show in excellent audience quality...from Power Gate Masters DVD comes the DVD-R title, BON JOVI "City Of Love", featuring include their Taratata TV Show from Paris in March 1996, and a JON BON JOVI solo appearance at The Budokan on July 7th, 1997 in excellent audience-shot quality.  I also need to mention an absolute KILLER recording that Hot Stuff! CDR is just releasing this week...SOUTHSIDE JOHNNY "Love On The Wrong Side Of Town" an Asbury Park 2006 show that proves the band is as great as ever, performing STONES songs and whipping up a frenzy...it's an audience tape that you would swear is from the board, absolutely perfect....I'm hoping to get a review posted this week.
