New Batch of Dylan from Tambourine Man/Thinman...
20 Aug 2007

It's hard to believe we are winding down Summer 2007 already.  As the old saying goes, time flies when you're having fun.  I certainly hope you have been able to fit in your share of fun in the sun - or whatever trips your trigger outside of your working life.  We have been riding a nice mid-Summer wave of cool releases and it seems we have quieted down somewhat this past week.  Many questions from collectors on how the new LED ZEPPELIN titles featuring the Southampton '73 multi track soundboards compare between Empress Valley and Nasty Music.  Just to be fair, I haven't formally heard either of the commercial releases.  I've downloaded  the initial torrent via Royal Orleans - Thank you Jason and cheers to your better health - and downloaded a decent remaster from Dime-A -Dozen.  Just like many of you, I await my shipment that has both commercial titles for comparison and I've heard they are different and not just because Nasty Music's version features a third disc of extra tapes to sweeten the deal.  That's all I can say for now but I do hope to have the titles by the weekend and I'll post reviews immediately here at HotWacks On-line...

Bob Dylan I Don't Believe It Tambourine Man RecordsBob Dylan Howlin' At The Moonlight Tambourine Man RecordsBob Dylan Ways Of The Flesh Thinman Records

...So we are all up to speed, a new batch of BOB DYLAN titles from Tambourine Man/Thinman Records arrived at mailboxes around the globe late last week and very quietly too...the 2 Tambourine Man titles are "Howlin' At The Moonlight" 2CD featuring the Atlantic City concert at the Borgata Hotel & Casino on June 23rd, 2007 plus 6 bonus tracks from the June 22nd performance at The Borgata...and, "I Don't Believe It" 2CD containing the June 30th, 2007 show from the Bethel Center For The Arts in Bethel, New York with two bonus tracks from Florence, Massachusetts on June 26th...The two vintage shows from Thinman include..."War Against The Spirit" 2CD from the July 5, 1981 show in Birmingham, England at The NEC and "Ways Of The Flesh" 2CD is the June 28, 1981 show in London at Earl's Court.

Pink Floyd Oakland Sigma LabelEric Clapton Made In Holland Tarantura Label

...If there was any doubt last week that the new PINK FLOYD Label, Sigma was simply an old familiar label reinventing itself, those doubts have been cast away with the labels' second title announcement this week with "Oakland" 3CD.  The folks at Sirene didn't fight too hard to change-up the presentation of the material but it seems this latest effort surpasses their own 5CD "Oaklands" from a few years back by utilizing a cleaner tape.  It's certainly an age-old tactic by many a label but if there is a FLOYD show worthy of upgrading at any juncture, it's this May 9, 1977 show from Alameda County Stadium.  Between this and the September 22, 1972 Hollywood Bowl performance- it's a draw between a couple of the best shows by the Gilmour-Waters-Wright-Mason line-up captured in entirety on tape.  In ERIC CLAPTON news...Tarantura kicked out their "Made In Holland" 2CD set presenting the Leiden, Netherlands tape from June 11th, 1977...and on a related note...The June 28th, 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival soundboards have been breeding on CDR over the last 6 weeks and it seems two new generic silver disc issues hit the streets yesterday featuring EC's performance on 2CD's, as well as JEFF BECK's performance from Chicago on 2CDs.  A puzzling decision by Idol Mind Productions (IMP) to release a 35th Anniversary edition of "Ladies & Gentlemen...The Rolling Stones" on DVD-R format...what, did they have extra from the many titles that didn't sell which contained this as a bonus?  I mean, c'mon and get serious. On a final release note for this week...Hannibal Vision released the MILES DAVIS DVD "Naked Star In Warsaw" that contains the 111-minute proshot performance from Warsaw, Poland on October 23, 1983 at Sola Kongresowa.

In closing, HotWacks On-line staff have been entertaining the idea of bringing back the Bulletin Board page for the last year or so. And after many emails and inquiries about this, we are finally ready to put the pages back up on the site.  But I want to set some ground rules up front and we will reiterate them on the board itself.  This will be your forum for networking with each other and getting questions answered, etc.  ANY posts about where to buy should be considered and addressed with a high dose of common sense.  As our disclaimer says right out there on our front page...HotWacks On-line does not sell bootlegs, nor do we know where to obtain them.  Get it?  This site is for informational purposes only.  If you are looking for direction, you can post the question WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS to reply to. A post of that nature without an email address will be deleted.  If you don't understand, I'm sorry.  You have to "get it" to play.  Otherwise this will not work and we'll end up bringing the board back down or even losing the site.  You WILL be able to swap or even sell your personal titles but we will NOT allow the mentioning of vendors or any "where to buy" information.   Post your email addy along with your plea for help and you will likely be rewarded by your friends among the community here.  There will be 5 different categories to start out and get the juices flowing around here.  I am looking forward to the feature quite frankly and I hope you enjoy having it around too.  Police yourselves. Be smart.  Have fun.  A large part of collecting is networking with like-minded people and that is the very reason this is now a good idea to bring back.  It should be up by Friday.

Thanks for stopping by and keep your browsers aimed at the HotWacks On-line News Ticker through the week. I'll meet you later in the Bulletin Board...have a great week.
