New Exclusive Zep Label to roll out, Stones Shine A Light on vinyl & more... | |
From our friends out of the Far East this week...Beano has announced details on their new ERIC CLAPTON title called, "L.A. Forum 1990" 2CD which leverages an excellent audience tape from the May 1st, 1990 concert at The Forum during a stop on The Pilgrim Tour...and Power Gate is set to issue the BLACK SABBATH 2CD, "To Do Or Die" which also presents a stellar audience source, recorded at Sheffield City Hall, UK on May 21st, 1986. Making a more resounding noise through the underground is news of a brand new LED ZEPPELIN exclusive label that appears to be ready to cater to the avid general collector, launching specifically to counter the limited-run premium label product. The Chronicles of Led Zeppelin (TCOLZ) looks to re-establish more accessible fare and plans on releasing unadulterated Zeppelin tapes, specifically uncirculated sources. The first two titles are said to arrive in June and will feature the scarce 2nd source of the Seattle Coliseum show from March 21, 1975, plus the prospect of a new tape from The Omni in Atlanta on April 23, 1977...Speaking of premium ZEPPELIN fare, Tarantura has released their October 30, 1969 show on the title, "When a Glass Was Thrown" 2CD Limited Edition... ...Just so we continue to keep our stylus to the plynth...Empress Valley Supreme Vinyl is preparing a Colored Vinyl 2LP Edition of THE ROLLING STONES "Shine A Light" soundtrack in deluxed glossy Foldout Cover (scans below)...From the generic Euro Label that brought us the MICK TAYLOR YEARS and such, comes the STONES 8CD + DVD, "You Always Get What You Want" which contains master tape studio sessions of isolated guitar tracks from Aftermath, Beggar's Banquet and Sticky Fingers and more, limited to 750 numbered copies...our resident Stonesphile Riccar99 will publish his findings on these pages shortly... ...Since I didn't cite and post this info from mssr. Seventy$Robbery last week, we can expect to see these titles from Crystal Cat just about any moment now...word has it there'll be some new RUSH titles from CC as well, documenting their recent tour activity... BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN: MAX’S KANSAS CITY NIGHT (Crystal Cat 1CD) New York 31 January 1973 DUE BY MID MAY ...Another batch of pseudo Dr. Ebbet's BEATLES needle-dropping fare of CDs have been issued over the weekend. They include: "The Beatles Story" (US Stereo Version), "Magical Mystery Tour" (US Mono/Stereo), "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (US Mono/Stereo), "Live At The Hollywood Bowl 1964" (US Mono/Stereo), "The Beatles Ballads"...There is also a new Japanese version of BOB DYLAN "Stolen Moments" 2CD of the essential NYC Town Hall '63 soundboard taken directly from the original Hollow Horn release of the same name... and finally this week, look for details of a new LED ZEPPELIN DVD Audio version of the 02 Reunion concert on the horizon very soon!...Also, if you splurged and purchase the recent Empress Valley "For Badgeholder's Only" 18CD and DVD Box Set, keep in close contact with your dealer on the opportunity to get a replacement disc for the original disc 3 of the June 22, 1977 set...we've been told about the apparent confirmation or acknowledgement of a pressing problem with the disc and it's expected that EV will issue the replacement disc - like they have in the past - but this an unconfirmed piece of information. Stay tuned... Thanks for stopping in to catch up! We hope you have a great week and do swing in often to read up on the latest reviews and other banter. Svengi, May 19, 2008 |
