The Fruits of Jimmy Page's Mothership Press Conference In Japan?...
03 Nov 2008

Remember this pitstop of Jimmy Page's from the Japanese Mothership Promotional Tour back in late-January?

...I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'...LED ZEPPELIN collectors are wallowing in an impressive string of bootleg titles from Empress Valley Supreme Disc that started only 3 weeks ago with the release of the DVD, "Year Of The Dragon",then last week it was the new Knebworth performances on "Past, Present And Future" DVD - all transferred from seemingly master tapes and really are upgrades.  Over this past Halloween weekend yet another previously unreleased soundboard recording of the Mighty Zep was issued and this time it's the performance from the Nassau Coliseum on February 14, 1975...The 3CD package is being offered both as a standard but deluxe trifold digipack as "The St. Valentine's Massacre" (below left), and a limited edition of 200 copies in a custom outer slipcase as the "Murder Incorporated Edition" (below right)...the title is shipping out now to eager mailboxes around the globe, stay tuned for the word on this release right here...images courtesy of the Broken Arrow website...

...In other ZEPPELIN boot news, The Chronicles Of Led Zeppelin Label has thankfully changed their packaging approach for their next title, "Finger Flu: 1975  Chicago Tapes Vol.2" 2CD, TCOLZ is leveraging the recently shared audience tape upgrade of the January 20th, 1975 show at Chicago Stadium for this one and is a worthwhile acquisition if you've passed on their other fare to this point...THE WHO "Charlton 1976" 2CD arrives via a no label effort and features a great, and seemingly complete, audience tape of their May 31, 1976 appearance at London's Charlton Athletic Grounds...

...Wardour has released the new QUEEN title, "Prayers For The  Races" 2CD - utlizing what is described as an 'amazing' audience recording of a May 30, 1977 performance at The Apollo in Glasgow, UK...and, the ERIC CLAPTON set "Prismatic Blues" 2CD plus bonus disc from Tarantura document yet another great show at The Budokan in Tokyo on October 7, 1977...and finally, on the Betrayer Deluxe Label comes the OASIS package "I Said I Had A Bad Feeling, Didn't I?", a digital radion broadcast of their September 7, 2008 concert at Toronto's Virgin Festival at Toronto Island Park, Ontario, Canada...

...In closing, an update on the Aurora Borealis CSNY Box Set was recieved over the weekend which described the trials and tribulations over the production of the 10CD/3DVD endeavor.  It seems that money to close the pressing deal ran shy and partners in the negotiations didn't quite see eye-to-eye, in essence stalling the whole project and it sits.  Nice. You now know what I know and we hope that somehow this thing gets completed and we get an opportunity to see what all the fuss was about.  On that note, have a wonderful week and I know that I for one, will be happy to have a new President after tomorrow...a change is overdue in this part of the world.
