...The Chronicles Of Led Zeppelin Label continues to provide collectors with upgrades and titles that have been given some thought - and I for one am pleased to see that the label is going to serve up what appears to be, definitive versions of the Oakland '77 shows. Arriving this month yet is "A Quiet Before The Storm: The Day On The Green Tapes Volume 1" 5CD set (pictured above) which compiles both of the known source tapes of the July 23, 1977 performance at Alameda County Stadium - the second to last concert in the U.S...to date, the fan-produced efforts outshine anything the commercial bootleggers have provided and excuse me for stating the obvious on that one!...Also pictured above is the lone announcement from over the weekend, ERIC CLAPTON "Tour Final" 2CD, which leverages a master audience tape that gets rave 'perfect sound' accolades from the pipeline and is apparently being served up from a non-label European production house...this is EC's February 28, 2009 concert at The Budokan in Tokyo...
In other LED ZEPPELIN news, Third Eye Productions has produced "02 Arena - 2nd Edition" on BluRay DVD...as we all know, their initial offerings of the historic performance 15 months ago were stellar, and for those that have the hardware to play this media, here are the details of this 2nd Edition production and what is different from the original Bluray:
