Where's the Summer Blockbuster?...
24 Aug 2009

...Maybe we already got the dandy with the LED ZEPPELIN Winterland Box from Tarantura, "Good Old Led Zeppelin" (which, if you haven't seen it, the packaging is quite spectacular!) will represent blockbuster premium releases this season...perhaps the new BOB DYLAN "Chasing A Shadow" on the Social Graces Label, set to hit the streets later in the week will put a quiet but effective stamp on the Summer release landscape?...Is there something else looming?...If so, it is taking its' sweet time in presenting itself as there doesn't appear to be anything on the radar this week...on to the what we have learned...

...Empress Valley did make it into the schema this week with the ZEP title, "Goro Itoi' 2CD Limited Edition release with T-shirt (this seems to be back in the fold for EV, to include premium items with the releases)...the title comes from the name of the Tokyo DJ who introduced the band on this particular September 23, 1971 affair at The Budokan in Tokyo, Japan...EV also re-issued 2nd editions of both "Maple Leaf Gardens" 2CD and "Firecracker Explosions" 4CD sets with alternate artwork...pictured below is PAUL McCARTNEY "Live On The Commons: Halifax 2009"  3CD/2DVD special set from Picadilly Circus featuring a soundboard audio tape paired with a proshot video of the July 11th, 2009 concert at the Halifax Commons in Halifax, Nova Scotia...and VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO "Ultimate Mono & Acetates" 3CD plus bonus DVD-R presents alternate takes of the "Velvet Underground & Nico" LP taken from MO TUCKER'S personal Acetate and released on the GLOF Label...Look for the new JEFF BECK 2CD "RAH 2009", a silver pressed No Label set that documents his July 4th, 2009 London show at Royal Albert Hall with a guest appearance by DAVID GILMOUR...

The Rolling Stones EMI Studios SODD Label

The Rolling Stones Seattle 1975 No Label

...There are also 2 new PINK FLOYD titles set to arrive soon from the Sigma Label..."Theory Of Ruin Value" 3CD contains the fabulous  L.A.Sports Arena performance on April 25, 1975 (Mike Millard tape?)  while "Consequently" 2CD, presents a Hannover, Germany show on March 15, 1970...

Pink Floyd Theory Of Ruin Value Sigma Label
