REVIEW: |
The 1968 Jeff
Beck Group tour in the States continued in Los Angeles and volume four of this
series covers the band’s Shrine Exposition Hall show; all available
versions were the same as the
Empress Valley release Messin’ With The Blues (EVSD 489/491). This recording is
a very good testimony but, unfortunately, it’s lossy and saturated in some
parts. Not much could be done against this but the transitions between tracks were
reworked and some micro-gaps deleted as well as de-clicked the whole recording.
Note a fade in/out after Hi Ho Silver Lining and 20 seconds nearly without
music in Let Me Love You. The sound output is slightly better than on the
original EVSD set, however the band plays really well on this show.
