REVIEW: |
While hapless eBayers suffer the dreaded indignities of VERO notices (auction listings closed down) at the hands of the late Buckley's greedy mom -- woe upon anyone who attempts to sell a battered, used promotional copy of a Buckley CD -- bootleggers continue to have a field day, seemingly operating with impunity. For better or for worse then, we have this recent title comprising outstanding broadcast recordings of Buckley in his "Grace" era prime, live in Europe. Too bad it's not a complete show, but the sound quality is impeccable just the same.
It's a straight copy of the 1995 CD "Dream Brother" released by Oxygen, at the time a highly-rated release. (Speculation was that the final two tracks were actually taken from the audio portion of a video filmed at an in-studio live performance.) Intriguingly, the front cover and rear tray panel photos are taken from another boot, "The Last Goodbye," from 1997 on T. Rex Records. The booklet is a 4-panel affair and the tray panel is 2-sided. Overall, a nice release if you don't have the music already.
