REVIEW: |
Not being too familiar with this little trio from Boise, I will concentrate more so on the production value of this 2nd title from Damage Inc's inaugural releases.
This show was professionally filmed the previous evening to the Modest Mouse show, also released by Damage Inc. Again, it's a single camera shot throughout, providing limited variety of shots via zooms and panning left to right. The camera utilized is positioned in the back of the Theater, just left of center shooting over the crowd. This show seems to be a bit clearer than their Modest Mouse release so, the video here is outstanding. The audio however doesn't have as good a soundboard mix as the aforementioned Mouse disc. Aside from Doug Martch's vocals & guitar, it's a bit muddy.
Like the Modest Mouse title, Damage Inc. has provided very nice menu programming, utilizing a portion of the video for said Menu's. The point being that navigating around on the disc is easy. If you are collecting Built To Spill, you'll want to seek out this excellent document from the band, as well as Damage Inc's Modest Mouse "Lonesome Crowded Theater" title. Scott Plouf and Brett Netson stick around to make guest appearances with the band the following night. |
