REVIEW: |
Eric Clapton 78 UK tour was a back to the blues one that even featured Muddy Waters and band as support. In Glasgow at the Apollo Theatre he was joined by the late Willie Johnson that was in Howlin Wolf band on “Badge” and later on “Key To The Highway” and “Further On Up The Road” Bob Margolin and Jerry Portnoy from M.Waters Band and Ian Stewart: this is the recording of the event that came out as Glasgow Apollo 2 cds and part of Mr Robert Johnson from Mid Valley 8 cds, not to forget Tarantura E.Clapton & his Rolling Hotel that featured a DVD of
the tour with some footage from Glasgow as well. This release comes from
Japan and is certainly more affordable than many of the before mentioned ones. Luckily a soundboard recording of this show came out and this is it and despite some drop outs at the beginning it is a very enjoyable experience.
