REVIEW: |
This
release presents the Faces Detroit 1971 concert which happened at the end of
the band’s fifth US Tour; it was a peculiar occasion when they met David Ruffin
from Temptation (one of Rod Stewart’s heroes) that came on stage for (I Know) I’m
Losing You, unfortunately unacknowledged on this release back cover. However,
this seems the first time this recording has been released on cdr, although the
tape had already circulated among collectors. Though a bit distant, it is a surprising
good recording despite some hiss, that documents a great concert with the band
in good shape, full of energy, playing with its usual boldness a series of
known hits that were in its repertoire at the times.
