REVIEW: |
The Jack
Bruce Band was the first venture former Mick Taylor joined after leaving the band
in
December 1974; the band assembled and
soon toured Europe in spring of 1975 despite
having no studio album to promote. This release presents the stop in
Gothenburg, Sweden in mid May 1975; the concert already came out as The Weird
of Hermiston in the late 90s (though with wrong date listed)
as a single silver disc and as Carla,Bass
& Drums on a double cdr with a bonus interview. This recording is a bit
hissy but substantially good showing a great combination of talent that
unfortunately were never able to properly record a studio album but proved live
to be an interesting combo; the songs are pretty similar with lots of room for
Carla Bley keyboards and Mick Taylor s guitar embroidering throughout with
a particular mention for Tickets To The
Waterfall than runs over 18 minutes
