REVIEW: |
This newly released disc
presents some songs from Jagger jamming live at Los Angeles Country Club back
in October 1987 before the launch of his solo Asian tour; this is remarkable as
the live set still has Jeff Beck on guitar, prior to his departure dissatisfied
with the amount of Stones songs he had to play due to Jagger s decision (he
will be replaced by Joe Satriani). While shooting “Throwaway” promo video they played
some songs, the story goes, at the Country Club. The first 5 songs said to be coming
from this occasion in soundboard quality are usually thought of being fakes. The
rehearsal tracks in soundboard quality already came out on Through the Years
(TSP 191) and on Jeff Beck Sessions; later the audience quality tracks came out
on Bloody Night in L.A. (VGP 120) and these were real except for the closing
jam (Track 12 here) which is another fake. |
