REVIEW: |
This
release presents the last two tv appearances by Mick Jagger in 2012 starting
with the Saturday Night Live show from 19 May where Jagger presented, acted and
sung too. It starts with part of a comedy sketch where some wannabe characters
pretend to sing karaoke versions of Stones songs, Jagger s hums along a slow
version of Satisfaction, then we get the first musical performance with Arcade
Fire and then a medley of 19th Nervous Breakdown and It s Only Rock
n Roll with Foo Fighetrs, these songs seem to be a bit overworked with too many
musicians on stage. After that there is a blues song performed with Jeff Beck
and his band, this is an unreleased track that should be titles Tea Party but
here is called West Wing Blues. She s A rainbow and Ruby Tuesday close the show
performed by Arcade Fire and the Saturday Night Live House Band. The show won t
be running for any award, it was a bit boring frankly and the musical parts as
entertaining as a classy karaoke act could be (who thinks it is fun watching
Stones classics performed by other acts?), the only moderately interesting
track was the Jeff Beck song but that didn t add much more to what was actually
performed at the White House; that is what follows here just presenting the
songs where Jagger was involved in from the late February gig. This release
presents at the end a short German tv interview from early September 2011.
