REVIEW: |
This latest
SODD release focus on Mick Jagger solo work presenting official tracks taken
from 7" and
12"
records: it starts with a different version of "Hard Woman" taken from the
single with the same name, followed by two extended remixes of "Just Another
Night" and "Lucky In Love" and the dance mix of "State Of Shock" and "Let's
Work" between which there is another remix: "Throwaway". "Say You Will" remix is
after while "Catch As Catch Can" is just a filler from the b side of Let's Work
single. "Memory Motel" is instead a real a solo recording of the Stones song
from Black & Blue which has been released in Japan only on Beyond the Groove
laser disc in 1991, part of a soundtrack credited to Dave Stewart. Some more
mixes, "Sweet Thing", "Blue" and "If Things Could Be Different" the bonus track
from the Japanese version of the album, the disc ends with the Ashley Beedle
remix of Superheavy's "Miracle Worker". The bonus disc is a DVD-R that presents "Don't Look Back" video with Peter Tosh from the 2007 Special Edition of the
Best of Mick Jagger, two tracks from the 1988 jam with lots of people: singing
with Bob Dylan and then with Bruce Springsteen off the officially released RnR
Hall of Fame DVDs. After there are three live songs from the 2001 concert at El
Rey Club in Los Angeles,
which was arranged in order to be filmed and included in the Being Mick DVD;
the disc ends with two promo videos: "God Gave Me Everything" and "Miracle Worker".
The sound and video quality are excellent but that s obvious as everything
included comes from officially released tracks, as for the opportunity of this
release it all depends from its sales……
