REVIEW: |
You have to be a real fan of the artist to appreciate what is offered on many bootlegs. I am saying this here because, you will need to really be into Norah Jones, to experience enjoyment with this one...despite the superb presentation. Anubis Records provides beautiful picture disc labels on the CDR's and a booklet that rivals Crystal Cats'!
It's not that the recording is bad, it would translate most artists performance wonderfully. But not Norah Jones. The music is too soft and moody to accomodate someone in the back of theater with a tape deck. The recording gives the music too much "boominess" and it kind of loses the desired effect here. It's nobody's fault, just the dynamics at play.
Norah Jones is really getting comfortable in her performing skin and I enjoy her very much. The highlight for me here is her rendition of Tom Waits Long Way Home. |
