The solo career of Brian Jones is something that actually never materialized and apart from the Soundtrack for the film, A Degeree of Murder, there is no trace of the solo session Brian did even when he was in the Stones. Not to mention the "Supergroup" he was planning in late June 1969, a few weeks before his death, that never surfaced.
This Mexican CDR puts together some of the colleborations by the blonde guitarist. It starts with Jones live introduction of Jimi Hendrix Experience at Monterey mixed with “My Little One” (incorrectly presented as live) the first of two versions that were officially released in 2003, originally recorded on October 5th 1967 with Brian Jones playing sitar alongside Hendrix band. The January '68 New York version of “Along The Watchtower” features Brian Jones on percussions and was released in 1997 on Hendrix's semi-official South Saturn Delta CD while there is still an unreleased take of this song that featured Brian Jones on piano, shown by Eddie Kramer in part on TV in 1997.
The Jajouka Master Musicians are here represented with two tracks that came out in mid 90s to promote a reissue of the 1971 album where Brian Jones is supposed to play flute and handclappings on some tracks after his August 1968 recordings of ethnic music, remixed with the help of Bryon Geesin. Then we have The Beatles' song “You Know My name”, here in the long version (not the one that was the flipside of the "Let it be" single released on the 6th of March 1970) recorded at EMI Studios in London on 8 June 1967 produced by George Martin and with Jones on sax.
The Bonus tracks feature Brian’s son Julian playing two vintage stones hits in reggae style, a funny ending for this short production that plays homage to the late great rock icon of the 60s.
