REVIEW:

Let me establish first that I am not a techno-music fan or expert.  Really, all I am familiar with from Kraftwerk is of course, Autobahn.  With that said, this is an astonishingly great sounding recording.  Crystal Cat is known for such quality and this is certainly one effort that received top care from the label.

The first thing observed is that this set was given custom CD art on the discs!  Crystal Cat is notorious for pressing all CD's from all artists with the same printed art on the discs themselves.  This can be very confusing if you happen to play 2 or 3 of their titles back to back!..throw in a couple of beers and you are in trouble!  Anyway, this title is housed in a sturdy cardboard, wallet-style package and it looks great.  They have also inserted a booklet that is packed with photos from the show, ticket stub, tour dates, etc.  A perfect document from the gig.

The performance?  I cannot personally comment.  I will share an excerpt from the blurb in the booklet on the nights events though:

"A few songs in to the first of 3 sold-out concerts at the Cirkus in Stockholm, the unthinkable suddenly happens:  the illusion of technical perfection is shattered as the shrill sound of an acoustic feedback is heard for a second-a brutal abuse considering this is a Kraftwerk concert.  However, order is quickly restored as Ralf Hutter immedately adjusts his laptop a few millimetres.  A quick reminder how delicate the balance is.  Sceptics may suggest that this little occurrence is well planned and part of the show, to dispel all doubts that the band is playing live.  However, the feedback incident is not repeated during the other two shows, so obviously it was not a deliberate mistake."

This music is not my cup of tea.  I genuinely tried to get through this one.  If you are a Kraftwerk fan, you will enjoy this one a lot.  Great sound, outstanding package with pics and info.  Pick it up.
