REVIEW: |
An excellent sounding disc from 27 Productions, the company that seems to be providing all of these superb Digipack offerings out of Europe.
Legends In Rehearsal is the perfect title for this one. It's really 77 minutes of getting to understand how Bob and the Wailers would work through an arrangment for a song. Very interesting. Recorded between a couple of shows on his "Kaya Tour", it just gives fans a glimpse of a legend at work in the studio. It can get a little tedious in spots as the workout for "Burnin' & Lootin'" seems to go on forever and really doesn't appear to evolve much with each take. But that is what bands do in the studio, try to get it right.
The audio quality is excellent though Bob seems to sing "off mike" throughout the set, all instruments are perfectly clear. The packaging is absolutely tops in the deluxe digipack the label is known for. Collectors shouldn't pass on this impeccable version of this recording. |
