REVIEW: |
Here’s a
compendium volume to the series, part 1 was ripped from the INA (French TV
archives:
it’s more complete than the
official version, with an introduction of John Mayall (here attenuated) in
French and it’s lossless but mono. The line-up here was: Mick Taylor on guitar,
John Mayall on vocals, guitar, harmonica and organ, Keith Tillman on bass and
Colin Allen on drums with Dick Heckstall-Smith on sax on the last song. Part 2 contains
two songs that were not in the official recording but appeared in another version;
they have not been released probably because they were altered… but now they have
been reworked.
In
particular in ‘Time Has Come’ the sound intensity has been upgraded from 1’47
to 2’15; from 2’35 until 3’00 the right channel had deteriorated, it is now
restored by using the left channel duplicated. On Part 3
All My Life a
noise at 0’16 was deleted, on
Goin' Down
The Road a gap at 1’36 edited out and another gap upgraded with a long
fade in at 4’36. Here also are these two songs which were not in the official
release but appeared in another version, so most likely they have not been kept
probably because they were altered.
