REVIEW: |
Here is the
final show of the tour
which had as
special guest Johnnie Johnson on piano
on I Could Have Stood You Up, Crazy Mixed Up World and Run Rudolph Run.
Lots
of versions for this show are circulating and coming from 4 sources:
*
Source #1: was complete and in average quality. The speed was the correct one
here.
*
Source #2: has a better sound but it was incomplete.
*
Source #3: found on ‘Kiff Riff Hard’ (ZRCD 202-2): only two tracks (I Could
Have Stood You Up and Run Rudolph Run) but in very good quality
*
Source #4 coming from DrGibbles, was originally posted on Dime and can be found
on Captain Acid's remastered version (see the ‘info file).
Sources
#2 and 4 were used by Captain Acid who posted a very good version of this show
(see information in the 'docs' folder).
It was so decided not to use these sources nor
the Captain Acid version to complete this version which is sad to be complete corresponding
to source #1 but lacks the intro. As bonus have been added tracks from source
#2 (including 2 additional incomplete tracks) as well as the 2 songs that are found
in version #3.
What was done
on source #1: the right channel had to be amplified by 15% from Make No Mistake
until Happy. The phase had to be corrected and th
e transitions between t
racks reworked.
Note that there is a fade in/out between You
Don’t Move Me and Make No Mistake and after Happy but no music has been lost. Source
#2 had to be decelerated by -3,4% and sound amplified; source #3: had to be
decelerated by -1,7%. Unfortunately, the sound of this release is not that
great and it is a pity because on this show some new songs were performed.
