REVIEW: |
The
California stop of the Winos 1988 US Tour happened in Oakland first; of this
show two recordings circulate:
Version 1 called Oakland 1988 (Barbaric Sound Experiment) with 2 incomplete
tracks (Time Is On My Side and It Means A Lot) but completed by partial tracks
coming from a video rip, however in worse quality. Version
2 California 88 (JRM046) a complete show with a better sound but sadly a bit saturated,
this is the one featured here. Not much done, only th
e transitions
between t
racks
were checked and reworked. This is an excellent recording and the few times
where the sound was saturated have been duly reworked, therefore are hard to
spot; the band is playing as good as ever, having gained confidence, here we
can even hear Sarah Dash announcing Big Enough and Steve Jordan Struggle.
