REVIEW: |
This release documents the first German date of the Magic Tour. Bruce was suffering from a severe cold but you can't really tell . After "Radio Nowhere", the band takes us back to "No Surrender". Some other surprizes on disc 1 include "Jackson Cage", "Working on the Highway" and "Tunnel of Love" (without Patti, Soozie provides backing vocals). Disc 2 follows the now typical Magic setlist with "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" thrown in for the holiday season. There is one bonus track from Norway on 12/4, "Cadiliac Ranch" which was played at the request of a fan. This track has similar sound quality to the German show.
The sound here is audience sourced and not much better than the two Magic shows I previously reviewed. Sound is a bit distant and just ok. The performance is good but I felt the Milan show more.
Godfather is doing a great job with the packaging and the writeup's are a nice touch!

I have to disagree with you on this review and ofcourse reviews are personal but the quality of Mannheim is amazing and WAY better than Milano and Boston. This is not the best show of these 3, that's Milano but quality wise Mannheim is stunning. A full broad sound with each instrument nicely seperated and no or at least no annoying audience intervention! The recent Bilbao show is even superior to this one and I can't wait to lay my hands and lend my ears to Paris on Godfather! Comment by YouKnowWho wrote on 2008-02-12 10:11:09

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
