REVIEW: |
This product comes from the Los Angeles show that was officially recorded for the album of the same name and was broadcast by MTV on the 5th of May, 1993. Some songs are missing from the 90 minute concert though ("Sweet Little Rock n Roller", "It s All Over Now", "Gasoline Alley", "Wee Wee Baby", "First Cut Is The Deepest", "The Killing Of Georgie", "Forever Young" and "I Was Only Joking") although this video is proshot and certainly adds value to the recorded performance for collectors. Just a few songs were officially released on video from this performance ("Have I Told You Lately", "People Get Ready","Reason To Believe" and "Having A Party"). From the third song through the seventh Ron Wood comes in to help on some Faces classic hits (first time in more than 20 years that they play together on stage) and his guest appearance helps remove Stewart from the Las Vegas act he seems to be enjoy slipping into these days, as the rocking side of Wood overcomes the slick production overtones that are present even on this unplugged set. Wood comes back for the last three songs: "Mandolin Wind" where Stewart himself plays the banjo, "Stay With Me", and before the night ends with "Having A Party". This DVD shows the concert with no logo on the screen, just the songs names, and no commercial interruptions (cuts are hard to notice) and therefore is a nice release to recommend. |
