REVIEW:

In this volume we get the 2nd show from New York in late May 89; f or this show two versions were already circulating: Source #1 had a muddy sound but it was lossless, he second one (source #2) had a better sound, ran at the correct speed but seemed to have a limited spectrum (lossy?).

Various different combinations have been tried; the most interesting one occurred using source #2 with the Maidenlane recording. Both mixes and merges came out well, so it was decided to keep both versions. All recordings used have been de-clicked and channels rebalanced.

The first part of the tuning comes solely from source #2 and the banter after Blind Willie McTell comes solely from the Maidenlane recording. The sound output is terrific in the mixes version as well as in the merged one, for a recording that fascinates whatever version used, although the latter has a bit more depht.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
