In this volume we get the 1st show from New
York in late March 90;
Maidenlane’s recording is interesting because it is
more complete than the rare
one that already circulated. It contains the 2nd
part of Red House which, in the previous version, was incomplete and damaged.
The line-up was: Mick Taylor on guitar and vocals,
Blondie Chaplin on guitar and vocals, Joel Diamond on keyboards, Wilbur Bascomb
on bass and Eric Parker on drums
As usual it was
decided
to combine both recordings with the idea of having the most complete recording
with the best possible sound.
The first
minute of the tuning comes just from the previous source.
For Red
House here are the details
-
from 0’00 until 13’09: mix of
both sources
-
from 13’09 until 19’37: solely
Maidenlane recording
-
from 19’37 until the end: solely
the previous source was used as it was time for Maidenlane to change tape
All
recordings have been edited,
de-clicked and both channels rebalanced and synchronized.
As in the previous volumes the 1st part consists of the more
complete version with the mixes and then completed it with some merged
versions.
Note that from the 2nd part of Red House the previous recording was not too
good and had to be accelerated by +0,75% to be in synch with the Maidenlane
recording. That is this reason why the merged bonus only features the first
part of the show. The output is brilliant, especially for having a full Red
House available, one of the longest ever version of this tune.
