REVIEW:

Mick Taylor guested to the live presentation of Tubular Bells, recorded by the BBC in 1973 but he only intervened in the first part; this recording appeared on Mike Oldfield & Friends London ’73 (Fan Recordings For Collectors), Tubular Bells The Live Premiere-Mike Oldfield And Friends (Flying M Productions). The Master of Ceremonies was Vivian Stanshall, while on Part One the line-up was:

Mike Oldfield on Lowery Organ, Bass, Acoustic and Electric Guitar and Mandolin, David Bedford on Grand Piano, Accordion, Organ, Choir Master, String Arrangement, John Greaves on Farfisa Organ, Electric Piano, Tin Whistle, Fred Frith on Electric and Bass Guitars, Tim Hodginson on Organ, Electric Piano, Fender Rhodes, Mick Taylor on Electric Guitar, Steve Hillage on Electric Guitar, Pierre Moerlen on Glockenspiel, Timpani, Tubular Bells, Gongs, Cymbals, Tam Tam, Steve Broughton on Drums, John Leig on Flute, John Field on Flute, Terry Oldfield on Flute, Tom Newman on Nasal Chorus, Girly Chorus (12 total Including; Sally Oldfield and Mundy Ellis). Part Two and the Sailor's Hornpipe featured: Ted Speight on Electric Guitar, Kevin Ayers on Bass, Vulpy on Viola, Nick Haley on Violin, Ashley Mason on Viola, Simon Ingram Hill on Cello and Organ, Janet Townley on Violin.

This was a very quiet concert except for a couple of places where it got nice and loud. No noise reduction (other than Dolby B) added or equalization performed.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
