REVIEW:

Videos of this show have appeared recently. They suggest that it is the show of January 26, 1989 and since they are named 2nd night there is a strong probability that the show previously posted was that of January 25, 1989. Another argument is the presence of Harvey Mandel who was already present in the group opening the previous show. As usual the recordings have been de-clicked and slightly amplified.

Apart from the first part, the same recording was present many times: they have been mixed to give a little more breadth to the sound. The l ine-up consisted of Ron Wood on guitar and vocals, Don Covay on vocals, Hilly Michaels on drums, Bobby Keys on sax, Harvey Mandel on guitar, unknown musicians played another sax, bass, another guitar, one more guitar with backing vocals and keyboards.

Disc One starts with Part I: The house band with Bobby Keys (sax) and Harvey Mandel (gtr); funnily on Am I Grooving You there is not Ron Wood; on Part II we get Don Covay's band without Don Covay, Harvey Mandel & Ron Wood. Disc Two starts with Part III: The band with Don Covay (but no RW & Harvey Mandel), then Part IV: The band with Don Covay & Ron Wood, here Somebody’s Enjoying My Home in a partially merged version (merged until 4’37). Finally on Part V: The band without Don Covay & Ron Wood plays the outro: I Can’t Turn You Loose.
