REVIEW:

Subtitled Rare and Unreleased Tracks this is a new compilation of the latest remastered recordings of selected unreleased material from the vast number of recording sessions left over from the Rolling Stones' long history that began in the early 1960s.

In this first volume we get a total of 44 tracks selected almost chronologically from alternate versions, unreleased songs, early mixes, and demos from 1964-1972. These recordings have been included in various compilations in the past, but this time they have been newly remastered to include stereo demixes from the 60's mono recordings, as well as upgraded sound quality compared to the previously recorded recordings. Demixes are mono recordings with artificially extracted instruments, then remixed in stereo.

Single hits such as Not Fade Away, Tell Me, and Jumpin' Jack Flash are included in the latest stereo demixes and newly edited versions from the original mono sources, as well as Satisfaction and 19th Nervous Breakdown in officially unreleased stereo. Early unreleased songs Andrew Blues, Try a Little Harder, Some Things Just Stick in Your Mind and the Chess recordings are all included for the first time in their latest stereo demixes from their original mono sources; also included are early versions of As Tears Go By, Dandelion, and Street Fighting Man, as well as stereo demix versions of Ruby Tuesday and Sympsthy For The Devil rehearsals for Rock 'n' Roll Circus.

The upgraded sound quality is also used for each of the alternate versions of songs from the historic classic albums of the 60s, Beggars Banquet and Let It Bleed, and the albums after Mick Taylor joined the band, Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street. This is a compilation of carefully selected original edits, including the legendary unreleased song Cocksucker Blues and Exile on Main Street Blues. The overall sound is great, undoubtedly it is weird listening to tracks like Goodbye Girl with the drums on the left channel, biy of course on tracks like Cocksucker Blues and Exile On Main Street Blues the stereo effect is unnoticeable.
