REVIEW: |
In the third volume of this series we got three parts: on pa
rt 1 there
are soundcheck highlights:
o
f course, a soundcheck is not made to be listened
to and this one also contains a lot of parasitic noises.
T
he passages that seemed
the most interesting have been selected and 'by hand' many annoying sounds and
noises were deleted.
This selection is about half as long as the
complete recording that can be found as a bonus at the end (part 3). So here we
have
various instrumentals and finger exercises. On part 2 there is the full
show of which there were
2 versions of the same source. The one chosen was the one that was not
saturated and contained the piano intermezzo; as usual the channels have been
rebalanced and the sound slightly refocused. In detail: o
n the Unidentified
Piano Intermission there were some microphone noises in the middle and at the
end, while the Unidentified Ragtime is cut abruptly (fades out); also Got My
Mojo Working is faded in but no music has been lost.
On p
art 3 there is The soundcheck, the complete recording
with the 2 soundcheck sequences in their entirety: their channels have been
equalized and phased.
The sound output is excellent matched by the superb guitar playing and this
make this disc very enjoyable.
